NATURE & OUTDOORS

The Everglades, located south of Miami, are a subtropical wetlands that are home to many species of birds, fish, alligators and other indigenous wildlife. There are walking paths and bridges over the wetlands for visitors to view the wildlife there, as well as tours and guides that explain the history and need to preserve this “river of grass” that supplies water to Florida.

Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden in Coral Gables is an 83-acre garden with some of the most exotic plants found anywhere. You can visit for a short stop or spend the day enjoying the scenery and becoming educated about the plant life in its gardens.
