HIALEAH

Hialeah is a city in Miami-Dade County.

Hialeah has the second highest percentage of Cuban and Cuban American residents of any city in the country. Hialeah is also the densest American city in terms of population not to feature a skyscraper.

Hialeah is the sixth-largest city in the state, a major municipality within the Greater Miami and The South Florida metropolitan areas, and the tenth-largest city in the United States among cities with a population density of more than 10,000 people per square mile.

You will find Westland Mall and Palm Springs Mile the main shopping areas with many discount department stores.

The Hialeah Park Race Track is a historic site in Hialeah. Its site covers 40 square blocks of central-east side Hialeah. Since Hialeah’s Famous Flamingos introduction to Hialeah Park in 1933, these exotic, colorful birds have become a widely recognized trademark of Hialeah Park and South Florida. The infield area of the racetrack was deemed a National Audubon Sanctuary due to its success in breeding the birds.
